The supporters of Mayor Rodrigo Duterte celebrated when he announced that he will pursue running for the Presidential Elections in 2016.
A lot of people somehow saw that he will be proclaimed as the new president because of the great skill that he showed towards Davao City.
But as a result of his candidacy, issues and controversies are being thrown at the strong candidate.
One of the issues was his video when the Pope came to the country for his Papal Visit. Duterte was really mad and irritated because of the heavy traffic, which was caused by the Papal Visit. In the video, he was also filmed cursing the Pope because of severe irritation.

This video gained mixed reactions from the netizens. Some claims that he should not be cursing the Pope since he was in the country for a good reason.
But there are a lot of people who defended him as well saying that his anger was not directed to the Pope, but it was for the government who could not provide a better accommodation at the expense of the public people.
Duterte said that he did not intend to offend the Pope. If in any case that the Vatican was offended, he will step down and withdraw his certificate of candidacy.
