Dogs are Man's best friend. Some of them are cute, cuddly, big, small, and easy to deal with. They are treated as part of the family. Unfortunately, these dogs are sometimes mistreated, abused, and cruelly killed. One famous act of this unjust behavior is the "Yulin Dog Meat Festival" of Yulin City, China.

Yulin Dog Meat Festival of the southern Chinese city of Yulin is an annual festival every June summer solstice that slaughters 10,000 or more dogs. This festival has began in the 1990's and has became a local tradition to the Yulin's. According ot Chinese lore, eating dog meat stimulates internal heat, making if a food that wards off winter's cold. These dogs are put into wired cages and are place atop each other. These dogs are mercilessly boiled and skinned alive. In addition, dogs are not the only the main entree, cats are also killed during this festival.

This festival has alarmed millions of people around the globe. Many shared their care and concerns for the dogs. The #StopYulin2015 is getting a lot of attention throughout the social media. Local Celebrities namely Daniel Matsunaga, Lovi Poe, Derek Ramsay, Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, Lea Salonga, Heart Evangelista-Escudero, Gabby Eigenmann and Mark Bautista are already partaking on this campaign to stop this hideous act.
